Time blocks let you mark time as unavailable on your calendar without it being an appointment — useful for admin time, travel, lunch, or anything else you need to protect.

What's the difference between a time block and an appointment?

An appointment is linked to a client and a service. It appears in your income dashboard, can have SOAP notes, and sends notifications to the client.

A time block is for you only. It blocks the time so clients can't book it, but it has no client, no service, and no income tracking. Think of it as a "do not disturb" marker.

Adding a time block

Go to Appointments and switch to the calendar view. Click on any empty slot — or click-and-drag to select a time range — then choose Block time in the panel that appears. Add a label if you want (e.g. "Admin" or "Travel"), then click Save block.

Time blocks appear as solid indigo bars on your calendar. Clients cannot book the times they cover.

Editing or deleting a time block

Click on a time block in the calendar to open it. You can edit the label, start time, and end time, or delete the block entirely.

Time blocks vs date overrides

Time blocks are useful for recurring or ad-hoc gaps within a working day. For blocking an entire day (e.g. a bank holiday or annual leave), use Date overrides in the Availability section instead — it's quicker.
