Now that paid plans are live, most of MassageHub stays exactly as it is — but some features need a Plus or Pro plan to stay active. Here's exactly what changed.

What stays free

The core of MassageHub — online booking, appointments, clients, services, availability, locations, Google Calendar sync, SOAP notes, intake forms, public profile, Fresha reviews, and referrals — all stay free with no changes.

Features that require a paid plan

The following features need Plus or Pro. If you're on a Free account and using any of them, your Upcoming changes page lists exactly which ones, so you can decide whether to upgrade or turn them off.

  • Pro: Booking requests, back-to-back discount, travel surcharge, deposits, discount codes, intake form builder, marketplace listing, full revenue dashboard, email reminders
  • Plus: Treatment packages, client memberships, gift cards, loyalty milestones, events, SMS reminders, bulk messaging, AI-assisted SOAP notes

What gets grandfathered

Existing records are never deleted. If you're on the Free plan and you have treatment packages, memberships, gift cards, discount codes, loyalty milestones, events, or intake forms, they keep working for your existing clients indefinitely — you just can't create new ones without upgrading.

Booking requests grace window

If booking requests is switched off on a Free account, you get a 30-day grace window to approve or decline any pending appointment requests. After the grace window, new bookings switch back to instant confirmation automatically.

What to do

Visit Settings → Upcoming changes to see a personalised list of the features you're using that need a paid plan. Each one has a direct link to turn it off, or you can upgrade to keep everything running without interruption.

If you were using paid features on a Free account when plans launched, you were given a free month of Plus so nothing stopped working straight away — your Upcoming changes page shows the date it ends and how to keep those features.

Paying monthly or yearly

Both paid plans can be paid monthly or once a year, and paying for the year usually works out cheaper than twelve monthly payments. On the Plans page, the Monthly and Annual toggle above the plan cards switches the prices between the two, so you can compare the real figures before you commit to anything.

Once you're subscribed, that page shows what you're actually paying and how often — for example £240 a year · First payment 25 August 2026. While you're still inside a free period it says First payment rather than Renews, because nothing has been charged yet. The toggle opens on whichever option you're currently on.

To change how often you pay, switch the toggle and use the button that appears on your current plan. Moving from monthly to annual bills the difference straight away; moving from annual to monthly credits the unused time against your next bills. If you're still in a free period, nothing is charged either way until that period ends.

Choosing a plan while you have free access

If you're on a free month after time away, a Founding Member reward or another stretch of free access, that access may cover a higher plan than the one you want to pay for. You can still pick the lower plan: its card shows Choose Pro, and the Monthly and Annual toggle applies to it just like any other.

Choosing it doesn't cut your free access short. Billing starts when that free period ends, and the card tells you the date before you confirm — for example Free until 26 August 2026, then £120 a year. Until then you keep whatever your free access gives you, even if that's the higher plan.

If your free access never expires, the lower plans read Included in your plan instead — there's nothing to buy, because you already have them.

Founding Member rewards

Therapists who joined during the beta period and built a real practice on MassageHub received a Founding Member reward — free Plus access for 6, 9, or 12 months depending on their tier. These rewards were calculated automatically at launch and applied to their accounts.
