MassageHub works for independent massage therapists in the United States. Your account is set up for the US when you sign up, and a few things work differently from the UK version.

Dollars and your time zone

Your prices, deposits, gift cards and payments are all in US dollars, and your subscription is billed in dollars ($29 a month for Pro, $49 for Plus, or yearly at $290 and $490). You pick your time zone when you sign up, and every booking, email, reminder and calendar time uses it. Times show as 12-hour, like 2:30 pm. To change your time zone, email hello@massagehub.app and we'll change it for you.

Reminders

Clients get email confirmations and reminders, and you can get app notifications. Text message reminders aren't available in the US yet, so the SMS options are hidden.

Taking card payments in person

Tap to Pay works in the US. It needs your practice address in the format street, city, state ZIP (for example, 123 Main St, Austin, TX 78701). Set it in Settings, then Locations.

Your licence number

Some states, such as Florida, require your licence number in adverts. Add it to your profile bio (for example, “FL LMT #MA12345”) so it shows on your public profile.

Your clients' health information

US intake forms ask your client to tick a consent box before they send their answers, and link to our notice about health information. You can't remove the box. The client wellbeing diary and the health question on event sign-ups are switched off for US practices for now.

Is MassageHub HIPAA compliant?

MassageHub isn't built for insurance billing and we don't sign Business Associate Agreements, so it isn't for HIPAA covered entities. Most massage therapists who are paid directly by their clients aren't covered entities. If you bill insurance electronically, check whether HIPAA applies to you before using MassageHub. Section 16 of our terms covers US accounts.

What isn't available in the US

  • Text message reminders (coming).
  • The Travel area page, which works with UK postcodes. You can still set how far you travel in Locations.
  • The UK tax reports (the HMRC mileage claim and the self-assessment export) and the UK tax-year date ranges. The sales ledger and client list exports work as normal.

Washington, Nevada and Connecticut

We aren't open in these three states yet, because they have their own consumer health-data laws. If you practise there, join the waitlist on the US page and we'll email you when we open.
